The value of a story. I sat and chatted with Garrett about his and his buddies highboys. What I learned is that we don't all have high quality photos of our old trucks, but we all have meaningful stories that mean something to us. . . and that's what's important.

I own a1975 Ford F250 Ranger, bought from original owner in Oakland, CA in 1984.
It has a real 428 PI with Mallory dual- point, big Holley carb, intake, and headers. NP 435 manual trans and 205 split transfer case with 4.10:1 rear Dana 60 and closed-knuckle Dana 44 in front.
The image with white wheels is when new to me in 1984. It had the nasty 428 PI. Taken in Oakland, CA.
The 428 used to slam heads into the rear slider with a quick downshift into 3rd and mash on the throttle. . . even when they knew it was coming. Don't worry, they were always laughing while holding the back of their heads. Good times!
The pic of it with the Dana 60 front axle in the hills is 1994 in Humboldt County, CA. Note running lights and fat 16” steelies.
Last images in Lake Tahoe, CA in 1989.
I added a 1979 F350 Camper Special front Dana 60 with high pinion and arched the front spring a bit. Solid work truck. Super fun.
The other photo is my friends 1976 F250 work truck - Big Red. It has a built 460 that could pull a house off it's foundation. He bought in about 1985 in SoCal, still working.
Both images are Southern Humboldt County, CA. He had 40 acres and did a lot of work improving his home and surrounds. This images are from about 1990.
Many good times in the city and mountains for fun and work.
